In 2004, through God’s blessing, a small business entrepreneur named Michael Arneson started the Michael R. Arneson Foundation, Inc, which is currently known as “Harvest Seed International Foundation” (HSIF). Upon its conception, HSIF became a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt, non-profit, faith based foundation. Michael’s vision is to go into the poorest of the poor countries to offer the people the possibility of hope and a better way of life.  His dream, along with a goal, was to go into twelve different countries that would represent the twelve tribes of Israel.

His vision focus’ on the orphans and widows and help to provide a better way of life for them through the teaching of hygiene, providing food, clothing and education/trade skills to achieve a new way of life.  His desire is to enable the children to become self sufficient and the possibility of becoming financially independent.  But also give the widows a purpose in life and to share their life experiences.  His vision also centered on making aware within the United States the growing need concerning the poor.

In 2006, his dream became a reality; HSIF was able to purchase 11 acres of ground and a partial built house in Gonaives, Haiti. On the property was a shell of a house that has now become our main Mission House for HSIF missionaries and other missionaries who share HISF’s dream. The compound is entirely enclosed with a 12 ft. wall for added security and to keep out the free range animals.

As you read through this sight you will see how God is unfolding this vision around the world.
